How to plan your week using astrology

Ever notice how some days you’re fired up and ready to tackle everything on your to-do list… and other days you sit down, blink, and somehow lose three hours?

That was me for years.

I didn’t have colour-coded calendars or some perfect productivity system. I had one long, ambitious to-do list and the genuine belief that I’d just… power through it. Two tasks in, I’d already be exhausted, behind, and wondering how I managed to burn through days with very little to show for it.

It was frustrating. And honestly, defeating.

Planning my week using astrology didn’t magically make me more disciplined. What it did give me was a way to stop asking my brain and body to give the same level of output every single day. Once I started matching my tasks to the energy of the planetary days, getting everything done felt more doable and less frantic.

So if you’re trying to run a business, take care of yourself, and still have something left for your actual life, this is one of the simplest shifts you can make.

The agenda you need to plan your week using astrology

Before we dive in, here’s the only thing you really need to know:

Each day of the week is ruled by a planet.
Each planet has its own energetic themes.

That’s not random. And you don’t need to be fluent in astrology to use it because I’m about to tell you everything you need to know.

When you plan with those themes instead of against them, you naturally create balance:

  • work days that actually move things forward
  • days that support communication and visibility
  • days that leave room for rest, beauty, and fun

Let’s break it down.

Monday: Moon Day

Theme: Ease in slowly so the week doesn’t run you

The Moon rules emotions, intuition, and inner needs, which is why Mondays are not meant for pushing. Despite what modern, 9–5 society would have us believe, this is a day better spent:

  • planning your week from the couch
  • reviewing goals
  • checking in with how you’re actually feeling
  • adjusting expectations before things snowball

At Moonstone, Mondays are intentionally low-lift and free from client work. I use them to chip away at my bigger picture business goals. Stuff like website updates, planning out my weekly marketing commitments, and cosmic co-working with my astro biz bestie, Claire. Or, sometimes I don’t work much at all.

And honestly? If you can take Mondays off or treat them like a soft-entry day, do it. Yoga, meditation, mobility work, and long walks in nature all work beautifully here.

Not ideal for:
Hard deadlines, back-to-back meetings, or trying to “hit the ground running.”

If you’re feeling disconnected from your brand or unsure what you should even be working toward, this is also a great day to savour my Mystic Monday email (think: short and sweet branding tips inspired by astrology).

Tuesday: Mars Day

Theme: Get shit done. Progress over perfection.

Mars is action-oriented, focused, and direct. This is your execution day.

Use Tuesdays for:

  • starting new projects
  • tackling tasks you’ve been avoiding
  • making real headway on detailed work
  • launching or publishing

Tuesday is when I put my phone on do-not-disturb and bury myself in client projects. This is the day I know I’ll have the most creative energy so I don’t want to waste it.

Since Mars is the warrior planet, this is also a great day to get sweaty. I’d love to say I go fully Martial with a kickboxing or karate class, but let’s be real. You’re more likely to find me on my walking pad.

Not ideal for:
Overthinking, endless planning, or meetings that don’t lead anywhere. If it doesn’t move the needle quickly, save it for another day.

Wednesday: Mercury Day

Theme: Say the thing. Send the message.

Mercury rules communication, writing, and commerce. Wednesdays are perfect for:

  • social media
  • shopping and other errands
  • client calls and meetings
  • writing blogs or emails
  • recording, pitching, or going live

This is a fast, buzzy energy. It’s great for short tasks and chatting up a storm, not so great for deep, uninterrupted work. For this reason, Wednesday is the only day I leave open for new client calls. When those are done, I’ll usually hit the grocery store and maybe, just maybe, I’ll show my face on IG stories.

If you’re a cardio bunny, Wednesdays are probably your jam. Personally, this is my rest/recovery day because the social energy takes so much out of me.

Not ideal for:
Sitting still or focusing on any one thing for long stretches of time.

Thursday: Jupiter Day

Theme: Think big. Build for where you’re going.

Jupiter is the lucky planet of joy and growth, which makes Thursday ideal for:

  • professional development
  • coaching, courses, workshops
  • networking
  • large client projects
  • launching new things

Whenever I can, I love to leverage Jupiter energy for expanding my skills, my network, and my reach. Think: workshops, conferences, creative collaborations, and launching anything new. 🚀

If Thursday were a workout, it would definitely be strength training. Jupiter is just the planet we need on our side to build muscle and finish the week strong.

Not ideal for:
Tiny admin tasks or reactive busywork.

Friday: Venus Day

Theme: When in doubt, choose beauty.

Venus rules aesthetics, pleasure, art, and money. This means Fridays are perfect for:

  • design work
  • refining your website
  • brand visuals
  • managing finances (invoices, paying bills, organizing receipts)

It’s also an ideal day for beauty appointments, massages, long lunches, gallery visits, date nights, or anything else that feels like a treat.

Pilates, sculpting workouts, and nature walks are all very Venusian self-care things.

Not ideal for:
Long, strenuous workdays. Venus doesn’t want to grind.

Saturday: Saturn Day

Theme: Set yourself up for next week.

Saturn loves structure and responsibility. Saturdays are great for:

  • catching up on anything unfinished
  • admin tasks
  • organizing your space
  • refining systems and processes
  • meal prep and housework

Think of Saturday as a maintenance day. The kind that makes everything else easier. Everyone loves to think of Saturday as a lazy day, but when you understand the energy of Saturn (aka Daddy Taskmaster), you won’t want to waste it.

This is when I do laundry, clean my house, and catch up on anything that didn’t get done that week (though the more I practice planetary planning, the less this tends to happen!)

Not ideal for:
Doing absolutely nothing all day and then feeling worse about it later. (Don’t get me wrong, I’m sleeping in a little on Saturday morning. But I try to avoid going full on couch potato at least until the sun goes down.)

Sunday: Sun Day

Theme: Refill your cup.

The Sun rules vitality, joy, and life force. Sundays are for anything and everything your heart desires:

  • rest
  • fun
  • time with the people and animals you love
  • eating good food
  • getting creative

Run, dance, swim, hike, garden. Or, spend all day curled up with your cat on the couch. All that matters is that you use Sunday to recharge. For me this usually looks like going to the beach, grabbing a fancy coffee at my favourite cafe, or playing guitar in my pjs.

Not ideal for:
Work, schedules, or excessive screen time.

TL;DR:

When you plan your week using astrology, you stop trying to be the same person every day.

Think of the planets like personal invitations to:

  • push when the energy supports it
  • rest without guilt
  • schedule self-care

If you’re anything like me, the more you practice this method, the more natural it becomes. And your business, your brand, and your body will thank you.
